I have a literal dent in my ring finger from my pencil settling into my joint for stability.

I use to think writing was hard for everyone. Like how painful it could be. Also raising my arm in class growing up. My arm would get so tired so quick

I can do like 90% of these, but my orthopedist "ruled out" hypermobility due to my skin not being THAT elastic (it is super soft though. Got told/asked my whole life why it is so soft to the touch)

Used to think I wasn’t hyper mobile but then realized I only really checked my right side (im right handed) turns out most of my left side is hyper mobile

Is it possible to be only slightly hyper mobile? I can do most of these but not to the extreme I’ve seen on most people. I’m worried I’m faking it or forcing it 😭

Is it possible to be considered hypermobile without having the stretchy skin?

Ahh, i have some of these symptoms with my hands but unfortunately a lot of my range of motion is damaged/limited by my existing autoimmune conditions.. It’s been suspected that I might also have EDS but trying to get further diagnosis has been a time since I don’t fit some of the criteria due to lack of motion in key joints/areas but having the symptoms with other areas.. trying to get doctors to listen has been a challenge for sure.

playing violin hypermobile was interesting and the first time someone (my director) saw it as an actual medical issue 😭

As a kid, teachers tried so hard to get me to hold a pencil “properly”. I simply could not do it. So many little things make so much sense now that I know about my hypermobility.

This is so interesting! My hands did many of these, not as extreme. But I’m old now, and my hypermobility is much less so. And so much arthritis. I don’t know if they’re related.

I used to think it was a party trick. Now I know it was the precursor to severe arthritis. Not worth doing it ever.

My parents & teachers used to get mad at me for “gripping my pencil too tight” & I always got confused — turns out I just have very hypermobile hands 😩
