He’s a total sweetheart with a heart of gold. He still has plenty of playful puppy energy and gets the zoomies often, but his favorite thing in the world? Spending time with you. Regulus is extremely smart and thrives on training. He’s fully obedience trained, attends Rally classes, and shines with structure and purpose. This boy is highly food and toy motivated, with zero stubbornness, making him an absolute dream for anyone who enjoys working with dogs. His eagerness to learn and please makes training him fun and rewarding. Although Regulus is neutral and well-mannered in public, he’s naturally wary of strangers, true to his mastiff roots. He bonds deeply with his people and will thrive in a home that respects his boundaries and helps him build trust at his pace. When Regulus first came to us, he showed signs of resource guarding food. He’s made tremendous progress with consistent work, but he’ll need a mastiff or power-breed savvy home with prior experience managing resource guarding and separate feeding. Regulus cannot live with cats, small animals, or small dogs under 45 pounds unless they are fully separated. He’s also not a fit for homes with children. But in the right environment, he will be the most loyal, loving, and devoted companion you could ask for. He is crate trained, X-pen trained, house trained, neutered, and vaccinated.
