I am confused. In any country where a type of creole is spoken. The people are considered creole, like in Haiti, Cape Verde, and many other Caribbean nations. How can a country speak creole and its people not be creole?

In Louisiana we refer to creoles (it was literally popularized here) as people of lighter skinned, almost white passing who spoke fluent French.

Creoles and Haitians had the same slave masters which was the French and was divided when the Louisiana purchase occurred older creoles speak a version of creole (there’s might be called something else) that Haitians can understand for the most part
