@nikitaslittleloves: Trust your instincts, you are more powerful than you believe ✨ Super vulnerable reel for me and so nervous to post it. But this is one of my most proudest moments. Putting trust in my body. Shoutout to @The Positive Birth Company and @Birth Pool in a Box and the “home birth uk” Facebook page. As well as @The Naked Doula and @Pop That Mumma. Who all helped me feel confident in my decision and advocate for myself 🏆🙌🏼 My husband had major knee surgery 8 days prior and wasn’t mobile but helped as much as he was able. The midwives that attended my home were incredible. So supportive and respected all of my wishes 🤍 This is your sign to trust your body, where ever / how ever you choose to birth 🤰🏻 #homebirth #bornathome #birthispowerful #cardiffmums
I had a free birth with my first nothing went wrong it was perfect but if I tried that with my second he wouldn’t have made it … emergency c section saved his life and that can’t be done in your living room. This message is patronising not everyone can or wants to home birth

I’m so very grateful this worked out for you your birth looked incredibly beautiful but please be mindful this is not the case for everyone & ignoring medical professionals can sometimes put your life and your babies life at risk🤍

Hate the our bodies were made for this lol. We could’ve both died if I wasn’t at hospital 🙃

Survival bias.im lucky i had smooth births, but i know people would baby would of died if they wasn’t in a hospital, if your high risk this is a really silly thing to do not only for yourself but your baby, im glad it worked out but that isnt the case for everyone.

Oh give over with the 'you're so lucky' comments 😫
Well done for trusting your instincts and doing your research! 👏
I've had 5 homebirths, 4 'against medical advice' and was told I'd bleed to death with #5 and was putting her at risk as she was on the 5th centile. Low and behold we had a peaceful perfect freebirth at 38 weeks. Perfectly healthy!
Hospital births cause a cascade of interventions, resulting in potentially traumatic births and negative outcomes. I wish more women (and health professionals) would take the time to read more, research and actually trust their bodies - we are born for this!

our bodies were literally not made to do this because were bipedal and our pelvis is too small. before modern medicine 1/3 mothers died

A lot of time a hospital will save you from the danger they put you in, unnecessary inductions which cause more intervention , well done mama xxx💙

The amount of times I heard ‘the ambulance won’t come to you’ 🙄🙄🙄 home births need to be more normalised 👏

You’re very lucky this was the outcome, I nearly died and I was in hospital. If I was at home I wouldn’t be here today with my babies

I’m planning a home birth against medical advice this time round as hospital failed me twice with my 2 previous births, I’m glad that it’s doable and I’m not insane xx

I had an accidental home birth and out of the four births I recovered quickest from the home birth and that was with a blood transfusion. there was something different about it I can't explain it. induction hands down the worst experience in my life

My baby wouldn’t have survived if I wasn’t in hospital and there’s a chance I wouldn’t have either! Not all women have it that easy. I had a hysterectomy and repair surgery at the age of 26 after my birth went wrong leaving me with awful damage that I still need more surgery to fix! i wish it was just the case of saying our bodies are made to do this but sometimes for some people they just aren’t! I’m glad your experience was better then mine I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone x

I had a water birth in the hospital. No poking or prodding. Mood lighting, warm pool, en suite, things to sit on, a pull down handle. It was the right balance as I didn’t birth my placenta and needed medical help.

I wish I could’ve done this. Preeclampsia with severe features and a haemorrhage where I lost 36% of my blood meant I will never deliver at home or in a birthing pool 💔

The maternity system fails so many of us. It’s time we take things into our own hands and birth like we were made to do, at home and trusting our own instincts to birth🙌🏻 so proud of you Nikita🤍 queen x

I feel like my second birth was taken away from me. I wanted home birth in lockdown to me it was safer they refused 🙄 In end I birth in like a centre in hospital but asked for minimum contact I wanted to be left to birth alone. There not always right xxx

For me I could not feel safer anywhere than I do in a hospital. As a hypochondriac, birthing in a hospital full of doctors is my safe place😅 I had two undmedicated, positive births on a labour ward. Do whatever you are most comfortable with for sure 💖
