It's not that easy. I've been trying to obtain permanent residency for over three years, and my immigration status is NOT based on asylum. People married to a Norwegian have enormous demands on them to generate a significant amount of money for the state for an uninterrupted year. This is almost impossible when you can't find well-paying jobs, or at least those that pay 100%. I've lived here for almost six years under constant pressure and stress over my immigration status.

We can’t speed it up. Udi is saying that they are still processing documentation that are delivered before 1avg of 2023. Those after august 2023 need to wait couple of months… its got worse already

It has already changed. Guys from Middle East and Africa had no problems with UDI but Europeans get their Perm Residency applications rejected. ☹️☹️☹️

Well, it depends on UDI. It took me 3 years to get admitted into Norway after marriage. And I'm married to a Norwegian. I know someone who got the same in less than 2 months.

Don’t worry,Norway ,as all civilized countries ,is in dire need of workforce flowing in .Someone needs to pay taxes.Some jobs are rarely done by Norwegians anymore.Relying on seasonal workers isn’t that smart.

But they made it easy now. B1 was requirwd for PR and samfunnskunnskap in Norwegian and now you can do in yr own language so it's more easy now🤷🏻♀️

As an immigrant in norway one thing I've learned about the process is norway usually retrogrades, so most likely if you moved here before the changes you'll have more time or have the older rules applied to you
