@cuethespeech: Hearing Screening Steps: dB: 60 Hz: 1000 Present the stimulus at this intensity to condition the client to the sound they will be responding to, once they confirm they hear the sound, drop to 40dB and present again, if they respond, you are ready to start the screening! It doesn't matter which ear you begin with, now drop to 20dB to begin the screening. Next, keeping the intensity at 20, increase the frequency to 2KHz, and then 4KHz. When switching to the next ear begin at 60dB to notify the client that the ear being targeted has changed, then follow the same steps listed above! Note: when switching ears you can work back from 4KHz to 2KHz, to 1KHz since your intenisty will already be set at 4KHz from the final trial of the last ear. Remember, if you client does not respond to a stimulus at any intensity after at least 2 presentations of the sound, refer to our great Audiologists for a formal hearing TEST!
