@popcornthelab: Trying to potty train your puppy while working a 9–5 isn’t m impossible, but it IS different than if you’re home all day. It IS (probably) going to take longer. Your puppy probably WILL have more accidents inside. That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong, it just means it’s probably going to take a puppy a little longer to learn and you’re going to need to be VERY patient with your puppy. Remember, you’re learning together! Here are some things that help: ✅ Crate training with a solid routine ✅ A midday potty break (or a backup plan) ✅ No pee pads still if that’s not your long term plan! I’d consider a Fresh Patch if absolutely necessary. It’s just less confusing for your puppy. Now we’re still being realistic. If you cannot afford a grass patch, you CAN use pads…. I just need you to hear me when I say potty training is going to be harder and it’s not puppies fault. ✅ Structured mornings, evenings, and weekends. Any time you can structure, do it. ✅ Grace. So much grace. You’re doing the best you can, AND so is puppy. 📌 Save this post if you’re navigating puppy training with a busy schedule, and drop a 🥲 if you want me to write a ‘trainer’s note’ for your boss so you can get PTO to potty train your baby (Joking 😬 I wish it were that easy 😩) Have you potty trained a puppy working a 9-5? Drop any advice you have below! What worked? What didn’t? #puppytraining #pottytrainingtips #newpuppy #puppytips

Thank you for this! My partner and I are both out of the house from 6am-3pm 4 days a week so he’s by himself that time I got ALOT of hate from people online saying I’m a terrible dog parent for leaving him alone. But he’s safe in the laundry with the fake turf that he uses for potty everytime, he’s got food, water, toys and his crate there and he sleeps most of the day anyway. I am having trouble with potty training though and take him out frequently when I’m home but he still just dissapears sometimes and does it in the house which really sucks. We’ve had him since he was 9 weeks and he’s 14 weeks now. I just reallly don’t want going potty inside on the floors and carpets to become habit

I tried the cage method. And my dog scratched the cage so much that she couldn’t walk on her front paws. Felt so bad and will never do it again. Any other ideas?

i was actually terrified bc i’m getting a puppy soon and i go to school and my parents go to work all day so there was no way for me to realistically take the puppy out every hour but this is really reassuring

Thank you for this. I’m going crazy and feeling guilty at the same time. I feel overwhelmed and think it will never end (the accidents and peeing everywhere)

My puppy is struggling with crate anxiety/seperation anxiety and cries in his crate when I leave. I wish he would just relax and sleep. Any advice?

so what confuses me is he is in his crate from 6:45 to 11:00, which is when i take my lunch to come let him out. he pees within 3 hours of that time frame, but when i leave again from 12:45-5:00 he doesn’t pee AT ALL!!! idk how to stop him from being so stressed in the morning time, i’ve tried everything under the sun i just don’t think it’s helpful. i don’t want to use anything that teaches him it’s okay to potty as long as he does it in a certain spot. if
