In biology, male and female are defined by the type of gametes they produce, not by who gets pregnant or gives birth. Females produce eggs (large gametes) and males produce sperm (small gametes). In seahorses, the female still produces the eggs and the male produces sperm, even though the male carries and gives birth to the babies. Pregnancy or parental roles don’t change biological sex gamete production does.
