bro, Google and watch the Brooke Shields Calvin Klein ads from the ‘80s. AE is using this, but they didn’t think about the fact that their consumer-base has never seen the ads; this type of sexualized ad isn’t it anymore; and the jeans-genes piece (which they did in the Brooke Shields CK jeans ad) is not welcomed in this day and age and political climate.

wtf is going on 😭 what happened to the American eagle and aerie that had the aerieREAL campaign where they started using models with disabilities, and they weren’t fully using plus size models but they used bigger girls so I could see how my body would actually look when shopping for their swimsuits… they were like the trailblazer of big brands in the body positivity movement what the heck is happening
