Not sure what’s going on in Canada, but I’m a mattress rep for six brands. I’ve never heard of 7” box. Just 9” or 4.5” - then bunkie boards.

Also, there's quite a few Canadian made manufacturers that make a wide variety of platforms, headboards and such with a wide variety of options

The platform height doesn't matter as much as the top of the mattress height does. Average knee height is around 18-22 inches, average bed height is the same or a little bit higher. I don't see any issues with what you have.
