@jessica.ball8: the easiest way to cut your sodium intake in half… is to use different (lower sodium) salt! 🧂 when I looked at the store, salts varied from ~400mg to 580mg per 1/4 tsp serving. diamond crystal kosher salt has only 280mg in the same serving. and even if you’re seasoning generously, it’s unlikely you would use twice as much. but remember this only makes a difference if you’re cooking food at home, which is another great way to reduce your sodium intake. 😊 and remember to get plenty of potassium too! foods like vegetables, greens, fruits and beans are packed with it. it’s another electrolyte that helps balance sodium in the body. and most Americans eat too much sodium and don’t get enough potassium, which can lead to high blood pressure and other chronic diseases over time. the more you know! lmk if you want more nutrition info reels like this 🫶🏼 #sodium #lowsodium #dietitian #dietitiansoftiktok

It’s just not as dense. You could get the same effect by using half as much table salt.
