@emileesegura: do you feel like you don’t have enough hands to read and sign to your baby? I got you! One way is to sit side by side on the floor, once your baby can sit up unassisted. Cruz is 7 months old in this video. There’s a couple of ways I hold the book, one with one hand and sign one handed, or I put the book on the floor and sign with both hands. A couple of times Cruz wants to sit on my lap and I let him and then put him back on the floor. Just follow your baby’s lead and it’s okay if you don’t read the whole book! Also, you’ll see that he isn’t looking at me the whole time I’m signing. That’s okay! Babies are good at looking at the signs in their peripheral vision. I promise they are still picking up signs even if they aren’t looking at you directly. You’ll also notice he will look back and forth between the book and me signing, again follow their lead. You can also sign lower in their vision more.
