@kelsey.e.twyman: This is ~90% of what I do for it but the other 10%… I got diagnosed with #Glaucoma when I was 19 and it’s no joke. I see the eye doctor 2-3x a year. I see multiple doctors and have multiple tests run to see how my vision and eye health is. I have my eyes dilated and numbed and poked. I take eye drops every day, morning and night. It’s not a picnic by any means but I’m also lucky that my vision is still 20/20 and my eyes are healthy, with all things considered. If you’ve been diagnosed, my best piece of advice: find a doctor that knows what they’re doing and stick with the medicine. If you’ve noticed anything abnormal mention is to your doctor right away and figure out a plan to keep you health and your eyes happy. *This is not medical advice. I’m not a doctor. If you have questions regarding your specific illness, please consult your physician, not me. Every diagnosis is specific to the individual. #glaucomadiagnosis #eyehealth #takecareofyoureyes #eyedrops #goseeyoureyedoctor
Girl I feel this so much 💙 I was also diagnosed with glaucoma at 19, my IOP hit 43 and I ended up needing a trabeculectomy at 21. On top of that I’ve got severe keratoconus 😔 People make fun of me and literally call me ‘blind’ it’s always a joke to them, but when your sight is on the line it really gets to you. Still… we keep going 💪👁️✨ stay strong, you’re not alone in this 💜

Eye doctor here. You are young to be doing glaucoma drops every day. Did they offer you a laser alternative?

I was diagnosed with early stage glaucoma a few years ago. I take my drops religiously, and don't skip eye appointments. So far there's been no progression, and no vision loss.

Well I got diagnosed at 17, and I failed to be consisted with my drops. I am now 29, and I have little to no vision in my right eye. Thankfully, my left has not ever had too high of pressure. The older me is disappointed in the younger me.

thanks for sharing!! just to add to what you said, for sure get checked if you notice anything abnormal. the difficult part with glaucoma is that most of the time people don't have any symptoms until it gets very severe. good to get routine checks even if you don't have any symptoms to check for things like glaucoma!
