I'm American, my husband and I do this. We have such different temperatures that are comfortable when sleeping, it just makes sense for us. It also prevents one of us stealing the blanket from the other one. We sleep so much better now.

When my husband first moved in together we used one duvet and it was a constant battle, a year in we switched to our own duvets. Would never go back to one!

I love it. I tried sharing with my husband but he likes to be wrapped up in a cocoon & often took all of it. It helps me sleep much better which makes his day much better. 😅

I’m confused. Don’t you fight over the top layer also? My husband is an “active sleeper” and pulls the covers. Unfortunately, I sleep with the covers over my ear. It’s so disruptive for me. Thought your sleep culture would be great but now I’m not sure. Would love to know more.

The question now is why ikea doesn’t sell separate duvet covers, but only in a set with 2 pillowcases. This way if you need 2 duvet covers you’ll end up with 4 pillowcases

I love this idea so much but I am way too lazy to be wrestling with not one, but two duvet covers every single week. We do the flat sheet and the common duvet just because the flat sheet is so much easier to deal with
