people don’t realize that majority of the fashions and the styles originated in our community first. Look at those little porch jockeys that people used to have that should be an indicator of whose fashion that was.

Oak Bluffs has been a destination and cultural spot for the black community for like…200 years lol!! I know this after living on Cape Cod for a bit. I know I’m white, but I like the representation and history lesson here. It’s a cool collection.

They’d rather see black women getting dragged in a Tyler Perry movie.

What's sad is the, "Rejection" of this collection is a reflection of the mindset of the Black Community that feels this Level of Success as Black Americans is not realistic. This is the same, "Rejection" that The Cosby Show faced; the same "Rejection" that the TV Show, "Julia" faced.
I truly feel at this point as Black America we have to remain silent when the idea of Black Success is outrightly rejected.
The irony is this, "Rejection" existed during Segregation the only difference is it was Internal.
Now we are feeding into the narrative that our success is an anomaly. And that is so far from the truth. During the 70 was the Birth of Black Professionals: Teachers, Nurses, Administration, City, State Officials.
