You're supposed to cut off all the other hooks first before pulling it out of his leg. The whole lure shouldn't of been attached to his leg yet, just the buried hook.

Just fyi. It’s easier and quicker to just push the hook in further until the barb pokes out a new hole. Clip the end of the hook off and it slides right out.
