First year tip that would’ve saved me: USE CLASS DOJO! It’s free and so amazing for easy classroom management :) good luck!

As a fellow upcoming teacher, congratulations and this is super exciting!! One thing that I saw with another teacher when it came to desk pets was if they become too distracting a former teacher would have them put them on her desk for a bit and called it “Pet Daycare” so they weren’t technically taken but it’s a pretty good system and I liked seeing it!!

i love the idea for a calming corner but from an aftercare counselor of 4th & 5th grade, they wouldn't really use it 😔 at least my kids

Just a tip for the desk pets, I tried using those dome containers and they broke pretty quickly. I switched to sturdier containers from dollar tree or amazon. Happy 1st year!! 😊🩵
