Their recasting everyone else so the animated movie about the gaang as adults except zuko I think because of this reason. So I think seven haven’s will do the right thing from the jump and I think the og actors are advocating for that too hopefully (fingers crossed)

im curious about your thoughts on the cr stuff actually cause as a black critter i knew marisha was gonna voice beau and there was no chance of anything else so my hope was not her getting recast it was her getting redesigned but thats also not great from a representation stand point liks idk it feels like fans of color couldn't win with that situation

It’s not just Asian actors, but I hope there will be Asian writers in the room as well in the new ATLA. It also makes me kinda uncomfortable that the less popular ALTA content has been blamed on Asian creatives…

I think they already said they’d make changes in how they cast the characters voice actors to be appropriate this go round. Not that I mind the performances given for both shows previously but yeah, I think it’s a great change.

Glad you mentioned Mighty Nein bc I just saw the prison clip and I really feel this would’ve been a good time to get a new voice cast. Specifically looking at Beau and Nott.

I'm pretty confident in Mike and Bryan to be sensible with the casting. Back when the ATLA and LoK I believe the push for platforming POC in voice roles wasn't super prevalent so I can buy that they just weren't conscious that it was an issue. Nowadays they're really conscious about those things.
