I recognized that cry instantly, it felt so familiar. Grief has to be the most intense/complex human experience ever, right? I resonate so strongly with the place/person/sadness confluence.

My boyfriend was killed in an avalanche, we spread his ashes in the mountains where he was taken from us. I had never been there before but fell madly in love with the mountains, I understood why he loved it so much, but it was so heartbreaking to be in the same spot where he left the world. Grief is so complex.. proud of you for being out there anyway! The love and loss are always intertwined!!

My grandfather died saving me from the rip current on the Jersey shore. I still love that beach, and I still go in his memory 🩷

As a child my dad died in a climbing accident on Mount Rainier. As an adult there’s nowhere else I’d rather get to grieve him. 🫶🏼 it’s my favorite place in the world

This gave me chills… Grant used to give all the ladies flowers in the EDR when he worked grounds in St Mary. I still have one of the flowers pressed in my trail journal. 🥺❤️🩹 thank you for posting this and letting his memory live on. ❤️

My father in law recently died after a bicycle accident. I love cycling and felt scared and guilty riding at first. But I’m at peace when I ride and I dedicate my rides to him.

My dad had a hiking accident that took his life on the North Sister in Oregon. I feel this so much. Somehow hiking out there brings me comfort? We’ve always said he couldn’t have ended up with a better tombstone.
