I've been on birth control on and off for 20yrs but I was unaware I was having migraines with Aura i always thought migraines were a really bad headaches where you had to stay in a dark room I had to idea there were so many types of migraines and now I'm worried about what damage I've done with taking the pill

I get really bad aura, sometimes for days. I often get aura without the migraine. But when I do get migraines they are crippling.

Aura is horrendous. I loose my sight, mine normally last 20-40 minutes then the sickness and migraine starts. If I’m lucky the migraine doesn’t happen but I’m normally physically sick.

I get a semi circular lashing light in my right eye. Time to take pain killers. It spreads outwards and when it gets to the edge. If I haven't taken pain killers it's game over

That’s the one I got . I have all off them . But I have learned to watch for the warning signs . Then I take a painkiller n within minutes it goes . But if I dont get to it in time . Im really bad . my children have the same.

You can also get Aura before seizures. Much less warning time ..... like 5 to 10mins. Also to note, with hemiplegic migraines the aura can present like a stroke. (one sided weakness and slurring of speech) A common trigger for women is the menstrual cycle.

I've had Aura pretty much all of the symptoms you described for 20 years. I remember when I was younger and it terrified me as I had no clue what it was and was afraid as people used to say it was a sign of madness que crippling anxiety and hiding it. It was so sad as I lived alone it was a chance check up long after with a cardiologist where I plucked up the courage to mention and he laughed( not at me) and explained what it was I was so relieved 😂😂😂definitely stress and lack of sleep is my main trigger I almost know exactly now when it's goin to happen. It really had such a a knock on affect with me I was in a terrible rabbit hole with it. I think it's amazing to have proffesionals like you now I imagine you've also helped people with many things who might not of felt they could speak up for whatever reason💯💯💯🥰🥰🥰

My triggers are strong smells and sometimes really bright sunlight. If I get Auras, its like sparkles tunnel vision, I take really strong meds n go to bed. If I catch it quick enough the migraine is just a headache when I wake up.

Zig zag starts small and grows, kind of looks like what you would see using a kaleidoscope. 35 years and still don’t know what triggers them, migraine can last between 2 hours to 5 days and I get up to 5 episodes a month.. not fun.

I never knew this was something. I get this some times before a migraine. especially the watery vision, blurred vision, change in sensations. I knew about the zigzag lines, floating lines/ dots.

No No aura 5 to 10 minutes before, not 60 minutes. I don't know where you get your information from but as a migraine sufferer and I know hundreds and hundreds of people who are it's not 60 minutes. maybe 5 minutes. 10 minutes at the most. and I agree not everyone gets it and it can last for days weeks sometimes depending on the person in the worst case scenario, you can lose your vision completely and but you haven't said that either. I know because I've had that. unless someone who also has palms in their eyes anyway. having a migraine is something I'm acutely aware of. !
