pro tip from an ex-desert grower. to avoid microplastics that inevitably happen from using shade sales and umbrellas etc...you can make a mixture of diatamacous earth powder, dishsoap, cornstarch and water, mix it in a bucket and then paint (w a roller is easiest)the greenhouse with it. its a natural non-plastic shade option to keep the greenhouse from getting dangerously hot. planting moringa all around the perimeter of the greenhouse helps too, and moringa thrives in hot desert sun once its established. the monsoon rains will wash the mixture off, and its safe for the soil when it does eventually get rinsed off.
