When I first started watching I was in shock that people thought Bree was a great mom! I love her character as the seasons grew but she definitely had flaws when it came to parenting. It’d refreshing to see this take!

I agree. She's still the best character on the show. Marcia Cross also gave the best performance in the whole show. I don't know how she never won an award for it.

I loved Bree but she wasn’t a good person. I honestly liked Lynette the most and thought she was the most normal. She was a controlling person but she had to be with T*m as a husband. The only thing I really didn’t fw was her being so against therapy for a long time.

I love the girls and MOST of the characters because they (especially the main girls) are complex characters who are good just as they are bad people. They are all good people deep down, but they’ve also all made major mistakes. I love that in characters. I hate characters who are only “good” or only “bad”

Apart of loving Bree is admitting she wasn’t a great mother. Her homophobia drove Andrew to be what he was. Thankfully, he and her changed for the better. Bree became the character we love because of her flaws and change.

I think the character of Bree is fantastic because you’d hate to have her as your mom. She’s controlling, conniving, egocentric, and driven with the idea of projecting the perfect image. But all of that makes her perfectly complex for a show like Desperate Housewives and Marcia Cross played her perfectly.
