"fairy tale bliss" demonstrates exactly who gunn's superman is not and does not want to be. in that clip, superman is out of reach and unknowable- you can't see his face, you can't see his personhood or values or care, rather the inhuman figure of "justice". in that clip he's also untouchable and unreachable- someone is reaching their arm out, beckoning him to come down from the higher place he has been put into, but he does not answer that call, for he isn't a hero of the people. that, combined with the "just something I can turn to" creates a juxtaposition that gunn's superman IS a hero of the people, someone who saves innocent lives not for his own gain, but for the betterment of those around him. he wants to be and is someone who people can turn to. he is not someone so high off of his own power that he can't even look down to pick up the people who need him the most. he is a hero of the people at heart
