Stop the War in tigray
Two years ago, but the fear still lives inside us. We wake up every day wondering if the fighting, the hunger, and the killings will return. We do not want to cry again—not only for our families, but for all the people of Tigray. We cannot lose more lives, we cannot dig more graves.
Mothers are still weeping for the children they sent to the war. Some never came home. Others came back alive, but disabled, their futures stolen. Many children are starving, their small bodies too weak to even stand, their cries for food echoing through villages where there is nothing left to give.
Now, young girls and boys risk everything, leaving their homes in dangerous, illegal ways, crossing deserts and seas just to earn money for their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandparents, and everyone they love. Too many never make it.
And we can never forget the horrors of the war. Girls were raped in front of their families, sometimes beside the bodies of their dead loved ones. Some were tortured so brutally that screws, nail clippers, and even papers with messages written by their rapists were found inside their bodies. These crimes were not only to hurt—they were to break the spirit of our people. Survivors remain silent, trapped by threats: “If you speak, we will come for your sister, your mother, your friends.”
How much longer can Tigray suffer? How many more children must starve? How many more mothers must bury their sons and daughters before the world listens?
To the world: hear us. Act now. Stop the war in all Ethiopia. Let peace stay, and let healing finally begin.
