Lay cardboard down and then landscape fabric. It means there is NO light getting in for anything to grow. Degrades over time so you still have drainage.

John, since the glue removes the ability for the rocks to do drainance, sis you slope the rocks by your foundation slight away from the house for the water to (hopefully) stay are from
