@onthewave86: Just a few obvious facts. Smaller container ships mean less stress, smaller crew, quicker port calls, and way fewer politics. You actually get to do your job, not just babysit automation. Same money? Then why break your back on a floating city? #containershiplife #seafarerslife #merchantnavy #maritimeworld #sailorslife #containercrew #smallshipbigvibes #seamanlife #workingatsea #oceanlife #crewlife #boxship #portcalls #shiptok #sealife #marinecrew #offshorevibes #shipsoftiktok #sailorcontent #containershipvibes
I work on a 30m long port tug, 3 crew, practically unlimited food budget, brand new tug so practically no maintenance, small port so almost no jobs every day, probably 20 hours free time every day, 2/2 rotation and i get paid more than my friends on tankers and offshore vessels.

smaller ship is not always the same pay, at least in Italy. Especially with ferries where the pay is variable with the load for deck and how big is the engine room for engine. Also I wonder if also in other countries officers and chiefs sign how much they decide the variable pay voice for every individual?
