Ну вообще в этом фильме смена пола серферу обоснована. Т.к одна из тем фильма это материнство и на что готова мать ради своего дитя. И когда Джонни хотел пожертвовать собой ради племянника, Серферша пожертвовала собой, чтобы спасти этого ребенка, т.к во флешбеке нам показали, что она тоже была матерью и ее сделали серфером, чтоб они служила Галактусу, и соответственно, лишили ее ребенка.
