I know it's for comedy. But actually the company started with repairing organs and some otherninstruentbs. After gaining a rep for quality they began making some instruments. then WW2 came and the military made some factories repurpose to help them, including Yamaha. they had them make plane stuff or something because they had some equipment already that would of worked for it. After the war, the country needed cheap transportation. Yamaha saw opportunity for a motorcycle because it's cheap and was already well diversed in the fine engineering reauired and had equipment to make the stuff needed to do it. So they made one and it was a hit. Shortly after they split the two things (instruments & motorcycles) kept the same logos and some other stuff but operated separately and kept a good relationship between the two.
