For most federal buildings, recording and taking photos is allowed in publicly accessible areas such as lobbies etc. It's generally not allowed in say backrooms of the post office or in other places that have heightened security. I could see why it might be a problem if youre recording inside a PO because people might be writing down or handling personal info like addresses, social security #s etc.
