@80proofgoods: Replying to @Zak Papaian Using Italian leather vs American leather. We use BOTH! But for very specific reasons. #italian #leather #american #us #madeintheusa #usmade #product #luxury #handmade #artisan #SmallBusiness #vachetta #comment #new #reply #howitsmade #tiktokshop #shop
“It’s not made in the USA if the materials don’t also come from the USA” I don’t think Zak understands how 90% of the things that are “made in the USA” are made. By that definition Tesla doesn’t even count 😭

You shouldn’t have to apologize for using a fine traditional leather from Tuscany. Italy is a friend and ally. These nationalists are out of hand. You’re an American craftsman making a quality product in the USA. That’s American made to any reasonable person.

I don’t think people understand that America doesn’t produce much anymore, also why is anyone complaining about well sourced products 🙃🙃

If you want strong, ridged leather for a holster, get American. If you want soft and dainty go European.

Fun fact: 80% of Italian leathers come from US cows. It’s just that the leather goes thru the tanning process over there.

Only an idiot thinks one country has the market cornered on every type of raw and finished material. These nationalists are obnoxious. 🙄

Getting bent out of shape about country of origin for the materials is goofy as hell. Its one of the most non-issue things around.

SmarterEveryDay just made a YouTube video a lil while back about just how hard it is to make products that are made with components entirely from the usa. it is very unrealistic for people to think like this. You keep doing you King

As someone who works at a customs brokerage firm, the country of origin may be Italy for the leather being imported into the US. But because there is enough substantial transformation done to the leather, the country of origin would be the US for the final product. Which is pretty obvious for these products, but can become a bit more complicated for products that are made in or from materials of multiple countries. The county of origin is not always the last country to touch the product, if there was not enough substantial transformation done at said country. Just fun facts :)

I always thought that US Made meant that it was crafted in the US. The most important part would be supporting the US crafter. As for where the materials came from, that just didn't matter as much to me.
