Day 628 - BACKROOMS MOVIE REVIEW: (SPOILERS) okay first of all let me just start off by saying that the acting job by the therapist was absolutely amazing and i dont know her name and im too lazy to look it up but thats how you know this is an authentic review. holy shit bro. so it starts off with this divorced guy whos lonely but doesnt wanna admit it and obviously has some mental problems (who wouldnt?) and his furniture store is failing and its all just super rough on him. but then one night he randomly discovers the backrooms and bro personally i wouldve ran the fuck back into the store like i wouldve bolted outside and called the cops or some shit but ANYWAYS i think the way they depicted it at first was perfect with all the random items that dont really make sense and the cardboard cutouts that we later learn are traps set by the scientists (i think) but anyways i really enjoy how he spends the next few days exploring and mapping it out even tho they dont really show it and then when he brings his two employees there (because who else does he have) i KNEW they were not making it out of there bro and like my heart was pounding and shit like omg. and bro the way he like sets the camera down and then you see it moving bc something picked it up and then it shuts off and we dont see him again for a while like SO GOOD BRO. okay and i wonder if he tried to lure the therapist in by leaving her that message and ALSO i am a little confused about her past storyline thing but i think maybe its meant to be confusing??? like i think its implied that shes that little girl and that person is her parent and maybe somehow they got in the backrooms before and thats why her parent was like DONT GO OUTSIDE. idk… idk but i kinda want a 2nd movie to expand on that….. but anyways i really enjoyed how he sort of traps her in the backrooms with her maybe as a desperate way to be less lonely but im not sure if thats why…. but it kind of scares me a bit because im a bit of a loner but i do it to myself like i tend to avoid people in real life and i feel like its sort of a cautionary tale of what loneliness can do to a person…. like twilight sparkle in season 1 episode 1 type shit… but anyways i like how it shows how familiar he got with the backrooms after all that time and how he sort of started going a bit crazy… like when he shows that you can eat the “people” in there like idk ik some people thought it was weird but i think it was to emphasize how he sort of is losing his mind and how hes made his own little place in the backrooms and knows a lot about them now. i also liked the different rooms or “levels” a lot, i think they were really well done. and i REALLY enjoyed all the scenes that were in normal reality but still had the like liminal feel to them. like the shot of the two people looking down and the cameras looking up at them with the clouds in the back like that was perfect. okay wait im getting off track so THEN when his like evil form (???) comes in the room and like randomly grabs him and bites into his shoulder EVEN THOUGH he trusted him and seemed to have trusted him for a while now like idk maybe its a metaphor that like loneliness will eventually kill you EVEN if you think you belong there like the guy did… everybody needs somebody type shit… but omg bro like i couldnt even look at that thing like his evil tall pirate version thing like the whole rest of that scene where it was chasing the therapist i TRULY could not look at its face bc it was so disturbing to me omg bro and HOLY SHIT THE ENDING OKAY SO when she finally gets saved (???) by the scientists and theyre like talking and then it cuts to the backrooms and its her like backrooms distorted self sitting there and then it ends like that was actually perfect bro. because it shows like the backrooms continue on and theres nothing anyone can do about it???
