Genuinely curious if this institution is involved in conservation or rehabilitation or research or anything that would even justify keeping wild animals in captivity? Your page says education but I don’t see anything on your website that actually states the mission of this zoo other than “up close encounters” which seems a little exploitative to me

Ma’am if I am being 100% honest if an otter crawls in my pocket two things will happen 1:I will be crying hysterically for 3-5 minutes healing the broken parts of me. And 2: giving said otter back to you would probably be harder than getting my beard out of a toddlers hand.

they had to put up a fence around the penguins at our local zoo because people (children) kept taking penguins home "by accident"
