@mylestheinsuranceguy: 30 years of paying premiums… and if you outlive it, you walk away with $0 and no coverage? Yup. You guessed it. That’s how term works when there’s no living benefits, no cash value, no exit plan. Not saying it’s bad — just make sure you understand what you’re signing up for. ’Cause time don’t stop, and neither do premiums. #IUL #LifeInsurance #Term #WholeLife #LivingBenefits #Premiums
All these comments are confusing I’m just gonna cancel my whole life insurance

I pay like 19 bucks for a term that expires when I turn 61. Pays out 350k if I die. I’ll gladly “hand over money” just in case. Better doing that and investing the 200 a month I’d pay for whole life into a 401k in case I outlive the policy and make tenfold on the interest as opposed to the measily amount the whole life would be worth in the same time span 👌

whole life insurance is a scam, you can just invest yourself. companies are never going to give you more money than you give them.

Unless you talk to me about a Return of Premium Term insurance policy. If you die in the term the death benefit pays out. If you outlive the policy every dime you paid in gets returned to you in a lump sum check.

If your budget allows, pay an extra $30-$40 a month for a Return of Premium policy. At the end of the term, you get everything you’ve paid into the policy back. If it’s not used, you’ve got a nice nest egg at the end of the policy. No brainer

Get term life insurance and not whole life . Keep your insurance and investing completely separate if anyone says they can combine them and you create an asset run away.

You pay for car, phone, health insurance…and walk away with nothing. You don’t get return of premiums with those either. It’s not complicated. Buy a Term policy. Have them invest in ACTUAL INVESTMENTS with LICENSED INVESTORS. Difference is YOU THE AGENT will buy a term for yourself and go sell whole life, IUL, etc as “retirement” tools to clients because it lines your pockets.

For $8000 I bought 20 years of million dollar coverage if I die before my kids are grown. Once they’re in college if I die they have my retirement to bury me and get started in life. Why do I need whole life? It’s more expensive and I don’t need it to bury me

Everyone needs to know that 8/10 whole life insurance is a terrible “investment.” But the commission on whole life vs term is 💰💰 for the person selling it. Get term to protect against sudden death and then put your other money in real investments like an index fund. 🤷🏼♂️

🤷♀️term policies are cheap and I need it only until my kiddos are out of college; I’ll take my extra money and invest it separately thanks

There is better ways to invest your money… Term life insurance is for the “in case the worst happens” and a significantly cheaper… $1 mil policy for 20 years at less then $25/month

Man just get some insurance while you’re young . You can always terminate and get into a better vehicle later when you have more disposable income and knowledge. It’s not the end of the world l.

You paid every month for 30 years… and walked away with nothing.
That’s the game with term insurance. Over 99% of policies never pay out, most people just outlive them.
It’s cheap upfront, but expensive if you don’t understand the play.
📉 No cash back. No coverage. Just lost time and premiums.

Kentucky Packrat :
Term life insurance is a hedge against your death, not an investment. Whole life is useful to prepay burial costs, or as a vehicle to carry cash away from a large estate, but is rarely useful as an investment.
