@speedifylive: Why does Starlink need 1000 antennas? Your Starlink dish is not actually a satellite dish - it's a stack of phased array antennas with over 1000 antenna elements. In this video, we explain the math and break down the signal processing and RF engineering behind Starlink’s MIMO phased array design - how beamforming boosts gain, reduces interference, and enables seamless connectivity without moving parts, despite satellites constantly shifting position in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Unlike geostationary systems (like Viasat or HughesNet), Starlink requires dynamic tracking and adaptive signal steering. Learn how constructive interference, spatial multiplexing, and advanced digital beamforming allow Starlink to outperform traditional satellite internet—both in bandwidth and latency. Perfect for networking pros, satellite comms geeks, and anyone who wants to understand the real tech behind Starlink's game-changing internet system. #technology #starlink #networkengineer #satelliteinternet #spacex #engineering #techtok

It’s NASA old tech… Elon never created any new technology

They discovered fractal antennas along time ago and that’s what’s in your cell phone and that’s why they can use multiple frequencies but they won’t tell you that because it’s kind of a secret

(It also allows the dish to track multiple satellites moving 17,000 mph across the sky without moving parts)

with N antennas the signals adds N times and the noise being uncorrelated adds sqrt(N) times. So with 1280 antennas your signal to noise ratio improves N/sqrt(N) = approx 36 times.

As the angle of incidence increases so does the delay. The delay is tiny though. A description of how the destructive interference the noise suffers due to the delay it experiences would be interesting.

so is speedify a load balancer basically?

This explanation is as if the receiver knows the signals going on which would not need radio

Mind blowing to think how small an angle between those little antennas nodes with a satellite that orbits at like 300 miles

One starlink is sufficient, very easy when you change your address. I use it for a year and it’s brilliant, it goes down once a week for 30 seconds.
