This thing I love most about people who are from here (Pete Davidson/Method Man/Colin Jost) they all seem to be proud to be from Staten Island and they have strong ties to this place. I love it here too!!

My grandparents on my father side and mother side left Italy and came to Brooklyn in the mid-late 1960s; we grew up in Bensonhurst and we had the best childhood growing up as 80s babies 90s kids my sister and I as first generation Americans. My parents after nearly 4 decades sold their home & we all went to Staten Island; for many years it felt out of place; now I can’t imagine living anywhere else; Pete said it best. I think everyone has a trajectory of trying to leave their home & eventually we all look back & say it wasn’t bad at all.
