Strange question. Is the US exploring any new armored vehicle programs? Not like tanks, but the ones you see on the highway. We’re getting new planes, news ships, subs, sensors, drones, AI. What about transport?

The thing is for the SCAF project is that Dassault is feeling betrayed by the lack of European solidarity. After all they have been asked by Germany and Spain to teach their engineers how to make their planes yet won’t invest in Dassault in return. They feel like this project will be a net loss in not only profit but in credibility.

the RAF don't need the best planes to prove their superior abilities

the UK refuels it's own jets, we have our own large tanker fleet, and our jets aren't compatible with US tankers.

The FCAS is going really badly. They are considering to cancel it because of Dassoult and Airbus fighting. Belgium wants already out.

Yeah tempest is as much inheriting the roles of Tornado IDS and even TSR2 and Vulcan.

Do you think Sweden is likely to continue their tradition of producing their own from saab or do you think they will join another effort. I’ve seen that Saab has been/is developing a concept and Sweden has a program named fs2020

GCAP certainly looks the most promising of the two at present. As you mention FCAS is plagued by infighting over work share. Also neither France, Germany or Spain have the same level of experience and expertise with stealth aircraft as the UK, Japan and Italy, which all operate F-35's and have flown stealth demonstrators in the past.

Will the US ever export it's 6th gen fighters? If not NGAD maybe F/A XX? or will they be legally held back?

FCAS is really just a repeat of the eurofighter Programm, France and germany fighting constantly wich will lead to france dropping out, since spain pretty irrelevant it will leave germany to finance the whole thing

How do countries like turkey and Russia produce 5th generation fighters while most European countries need to team up to provide fighter jets apart from political aspects are some countries better at making fighter jets or are turkey and Russias not as good as they seem

The Tempest looks much larger than an F35, more the size of an SU57. Hopefully drones will be refuelling it by the time it's in the air.

you will see American equivalent way before you see the European and that means they will probably end up buying the American

Biggest problem with Tempest could well be the RAF's problems with training pilots. On the F-35 it's taking about 7 years to train an F-35B pilot. Largely due to a shortage of training aircraft like the Hawk T-2.
