In Canada, since Covid prices have been insane. Before the closure of everything it costed 10 dollars for me to get my brows threaded at the kiosk at my local mall, now at the same kiosk it’s 35 dollars. I just have my sister do it for me cuz she does it js as good and it’s free. I’ve heard something similar about the USA too and it’s insane to know the political climate has impact to it as well

I can’t afford $70+ for nails every two weeks when they used to be $45 including tip 4 years ago. Salons are pricing themselves out and I learned to do it myself to save money and be happier with the results.

A lot of these stylists were influenced by these videos, telling them to double their price and even if they lose half their customers, they’ll make the same amount of money and work as half as much.

Not a recession Ma’am. I’m in this industry 23 years. I was 25 during the great recession. I’m booked asf steady getting new clients. It’s my colleagues pricing. They way people are charging have nothing to do with the cost of doing business. It’s greed and arrogance. I’m booked blessed and busy. My prices are affordable
