The shelter notes claim Marvin is aggressive: growling, lunging, hackles raised. But in Joyce’s video, he’s calm. Curious. Responsive. That’s Marvin. That’s the dog behind the kennel label — and it’s proof, once again, that this environment brings out the worst in animals who are already scared and overwhelmed. Marvin doesn’t deserve to die because he’s stressed in a cage. He came in as a stray just one week ago on July 7. He hasn’t been given time to adjust. No decompression. No outlet for his energy. No kindness except from a few compassionate visitors. And now, his fate is sealed for 2 PM today. He’s not broken. He’s reacting to trauma and fear — something every living being does when they feel trapped and unsure. Please don’t let Marvin die based on a moment of stress in a terrifying place.
