I’m sorry I can’t get past the Benadryl thing… she was 100% being drugged. No one gives their child Benadryl so often that they forget things. For allergies. Like??

my therapist says that when your brain returns repressed memories it means that you're capable of dealing with that trauma now but it'll always be hard.

Your brain blocks out trauma that is to much for you to handle. It’s a trauma response. I know friends in extensive therapy to try and get them back and work through them. I’m so sorry girl

I too suddenly reversed childhood memory blocks when getting married. Partner made me feel safe for the first time & my body finally felt safe enough to process. It’s a really sobering experience

Repressed memories are really really hard when you remember them. Remembering what my dad did to me did a similar thing. I was incredibly angry for a very very long time and decided I don’t deserve to deal with that ever again. Nobody deserves that.

I’m guessing her psyche forced her to bury these memories because of how painful they are. Memory is such an amazing and important facet of life but it’s dependent on many factors such as emotions, encoding, and retrieval. There’s a good chance her brain pushed these memories down because she had to live with the person who caused all this pain

i hate people who just forgive and forget abuse it doesn't matter that shes "changed", realistically they never do, she still bullied and tormented a literal child her entire childhood i cant even listen to the rest of this story
