Try & do the side! My son came out fast when I was laying on my left side, I didn’t know it at the time but apparently delivering on your side is good. Doctors came running in when I yelled he was coming out, bc they had told me to stop pushing 😂 but I couldn’t stop & hold my baby back in, he was coming out!

It’s s called shoulder dystocia and it's a medical emergency. They basically have to act FAST to prevent permanent injury or even death. The baby's shoulder gets trapped behind the mother's pubic bone, and delivery becomes very difficult.
If not handled properly, the baby can develop Erb's palsy (a type of arm paralysis). There can be brain damagee from lack of oxygen. Sometimes, the baby doesn't make it. The mother can suffer severe tears, bleeding, or even a broken pelvis. They use special medical maneuvers but it’s not always simple. It can happen in almost any position though. Just because she had one traumatic event doesn’t mean she should prevent you from giving birth in the position you feel comfortable in. Being on all fours doesn’t increase the risk of shoulder dystocia.

Omg that’s a crazy delivery. I feel like she shouldn’t use that one traumatic experience to prevent to be in all 4 legs if you do end up being delivering in 4. I feel like every woman is different and you’ll know what’s best for your body at the time at birth.

You’re overthinking this (kindly) you’ll be in so many different positions but when it’s time to bear down and push you’ll wanna be on ur back with ur legs up on the stirrups

Wouldn't they just schedule a C-section if there is a risk of the baby's shoulder getting stuck?
