The spear was meant to disrupt his equilibrium and senses. Also, Kratos is such a master of combat that he doesn’t “think” about his next move, he just does it. The boxing combo was the same in each sequence the first few times on purpose. To trick Heimdall into thinking he’s THAT predictable. When in fact he was setting up that trapping of heimdalls hand to land a punch. When he finally lands the punch, he feigns the left hook (that heimdall was expecting and was blocking) and pulls the guard down instead, to create an opening… Kratos is THAT good at mastering combat, it was all combat psychology for him.

Ending of the video reminds me of those "Would you kill for your kids" videos where they asked the moms. For dads: what Kratos said, "If Heimdall is a threat to my son, I must ACT." Short answer: yes.

Kratos first weapon was a spear. He didn't need to think while using it, making it hard for Heimdall to read him.

He wasn't kidding about overwhleming him with his advantages. That whole fight leading up to the first landed punch is beautiful. Kratos' intent is simple: "I'm gonna hit you and not stop until you're dead or give up." He just tightens up his boxing combo bit by bit until Heimdall can't dodge anymore, then tricks him with the spear. He basically sensory overloads him with nonstop aggression.

Heimdall was one of the most undisciplined and callow opponents Kratos has ever fought. He took pity on him and even offered him an out (heeding the Norn’s words) and Heimdall decided his pride was worth more than his life.

Fun fact: Spear was not the only reason Kratos won, he actually used same combo 2 times and tricked like that Heimdall because third time he tried to combo he changed up his movements catching Heimdall off guard

🤔 Пишут слабый сюжет, по этому Кратос и победил. В игре, если не ошибаюсь, в дневнике Кратос пишет, что бы победить, ему пришлось наносить столько ударов, что б Хеймдалль просто физически не мог от них уклониться. И в игре мы это и видим. Закидывая копьями и затем подрывая их - Кратос отвлекал внимание Хеймдалля, делая его рассеянным в бою. И обратите внимание, на каждую новую попытку Кратоса ударить Хеймдалля - Кратос стаёт быстрее и пробует новые комбинации. Хеймдаль хоть и знает атаки Кратоса, но чисто физически не успевает среагировать и получает по лицу. По моему сделано круто. Кратос адаптируется под вргаа и наносит шквал ударов. По факту, он мог победить и без копья. Но оно сыграло свою роль, рассредоточив врага. 🔥
