I didn’t think it through I just instinctively hit record because I wanted to get the word out fast in case anyone else was nearby. Second, I want to clarify that I wasn’t “spectating.” I know that’s how it might’ve looked, but I was genuinely just confused and trying to figure out how to cross the street. That’s the direction I was heading, and I was already late to a dinner reservation. I didn’t realize how serious things were until someone told me there was an active shooter situation. The moment I understood what was happening, I left the area immediately.
