I see what you’re saying, people take it too far and over genuinely inconsequential and trivial grievances. On the other hand people do messed up stuff on a public platform and need to be held accountable for their actions/words and if they have any sort of large influence, their behavior could be normalized for their audience.

Cancel culture should only apply on serious occasions. I’d say if one is knowingly committing an act that is actively hurting another or a particular group, then get canceled mf. If it’s something one could genuinely learn from, people need to be allowed to do that work and get better. Some people most definitely deserve to be deplatformed if their views perpetuate any kind of suffering of anyone imo (generally speaking). People’s words have so much weight and some ppl just talk out of their ass 🤷♂️
