I’m gonna be real it’s not really about the “mickey mouse degree” it’s more about the uni they went to and their experiences, because someone who went to cambridge and did art history will be better than someone that did maths at westminster if they wanted to go for finsnce esp IB/quant

Work hard to go top 10 school for a STEM degree, get at least one summer or two spring internships, do a few extracurriculars, write a killer CV and do interview prep. That's all that's needed

OR there aren't enough graduate level jobs for the amount of students who have recently undertaken a degree. And employers chose staff who they see as less educated as they'll be more likely to stay in the company, and will take a lower starting salary (or at least thats how they perceive it.) The degrees themselves are fine, the employment sector is causing this issue.

It’s always difficult to get your first job after graduating (has been since the 1990’s at least). (Life eventually works out, largely, for most people, but it’s messy.)
