As a nurse, a hysterectomy is one of the most painful surgeries. Please stay on top of your pain management and have someone who will advocate for you. You got this and it WILL get better. Sleep as much as you can through the worst of it ♥️♥️♥️

Anyone contemplating a Hysterectomy, I highly recommend asking your doctor if you're a candidate for a V-Notes Hysterectomy which is done vaginally. The recovery is much easier. I hope you feel better soon!!

I was in horrible pain after mine, but my blood pressure was too low after surgery so they couldn’t give me any pain meds. I felt like I was in labor all over again. It was awful.

I went through the exact same thing, horrible pain and had to stay overnight because my pain couldn’t be controlled. Best decision I ever made though, you got this!!

I had that happen with mine. Was still on some pain the next day at discharge. Went back in 2 days later in the worst pain of my life, my tubes had twisted (they left my tubes and ovaries) and were necrotic. Had to have emergency surgery. Woke up feeling great!

you can ask for something like naproxen. any codeine may back you up and paracetamol won't do anything. keep up on stool softeners too 💖💖

thank you for this vulnerability. I just had my hysterectomy yesterday. somehow I did no tik tok research prior too and just started looking up videos last night. I have been in such uncontrollable pain, the oxy barely takes the edge off to let me nap and I can do absolutely nothing on my own. I completely underestimated the recovery. Then it seems like all of the videos are perfect looking women up smiling and moving boasting pain free recovery. I was starting to think something was wrong with me.

Sending healing vibes! I am 2 weeks post op today. I was terrified for surgery and how it would be after. My nurse asked me multiple times if I wanted pain meds before going home, I told her no as I felt great and a huge relief from my everyday pain. I feel fortunate I never needed pain meds nor had much pain except for the horrible gas pains. Rest and continue to recover ♥️

Girl I’m on Day 5 post hysterectomy and I was just admitted into the hospital for an abscess they found in my abdomen. Now I’ll be here a few days on IV medication and for them to drain the abscess… I completely get what you mean about to he pain

I was in so much pain for the 3 days after. They barely wanted to get anything under control after surgery, tylenol was what they thought would help me. It was awful until I said I'm not leaving until my pain is better.

I felt this to the core. When I came to my pain was far from under control. I have had other surgical procedures and never experienced that before. Dr said they had to do a bit of work with endometriosis and adhesions. They got me medicine as quickly as they could but it wasn't what I would consider 'controlled' under somewhere middle of the night time frame. It was no joke.

had my total hysterectomy on the 9th. they were borderline keeping me for pain.. I wish they did. started feeling less pain after almost 2 weeks (I heal super slow).kept reminding myself the pain always ends and this pain was what was giving me my life back.
