I can say from my first hand experience with a few of these big leftist men on twitter(he was a long time mutual) these men do not apply their politics to the women they decide to entangle themselves with. It’s a theme and there are more of them

I wasn’t terribly surprised. There’s been something about his angry and defensive attitude that felt too familiar. He blocked anyone who called him on bad takes. He was unwilling to learn and grow. He had a huge ego. It all ties together.

He has seemed like he was spiraling for a while in his content (including a lot of videos that were posted and then deleted), but I never assumed it was something like this. In retrospect, some of his longer pieces read more like admissions of guilt or at least some level of acknowledgment that he knew what he was doing was wrong, which, if true, makes the behavior even more reprehensible. I didn't know him, but I did appreciate many of his political takes, and it is disappointing.

I'm disappointed and not surprised. His anger, resentment, and ego looked too much like the worst of the leftist men I've dated. The type of man who claims to be feminist until a woman has a boundary. The type who learns just enough therapy speak to be dangerous. The type who only speaks the language of self-awareness until it's time to apply the lessons and grow.
