130kmh would greatly reduce driver fatigue and distraction. the constant reduction of speed limits increases drivers time on the road.

It’s not like 80% of drivers don’t already drive at 120-130kmh on majority of main roads, and for good reason. The sheeple will sit there dazed paying no attention, at dead on the speed limit in the overtaking lane because “iTs ThE LaW aNd ItS SaFeR” then merge into a truck causing a 5 car accident. Speed is rarely the issue, it’s incompetence and people with no confidence driving who shouldn’t even have a licence.

Maybe if the roads were made properly like they are in Germany increased speed would be great, but we are governed by bureaucrats who always take the cheapest quote

Increasing the speed limit seams a good idea but with P plate holders having restrictions would lead to disaster. To restrict P plate drivers from being on these roads would be discriminatory

LESS stringent training is required. It’s absolutely nuts to limit new drivers to 90kmh when the speed limit is 110kmh. It sounds good in your head but leads to poor outcomes. Train to the standard…..and that standard is the maximum legal speed limit

Exactly right: 130kmh is not doing harm late at night on the M4 or M1. An increase to 130 is absolutely due. Let’s start giving people the responsibility to drive to conditions. 110 is far too slow in modern cars nowadays

100 km/h in urban settings, 110 km/h in outer regions, 130 km/h in extremely remote straight roads, Specifically the 90 mile straight and the nullabor.

I agree to raise it most cars these days can safely handle those speeds but in saying that we need to tighten down on getting liscenses especially with the imports who cause a good chunck of accidents on the road
