At $20/h and paying $15/h after insurance and the income tax that you will have to pay as well on that employee plus overhead, you will be losing money

We use it for employees at one of our businesses. They cover a lot of things that cause me headaches. I had to fire one this year and just sent an email and they dealt with it all. Worth the money.

before i was accepted into a union, i worked alot of temp blue collar jobs. crazy thing is, the regulars would hate, cause i made more than them. I had no idea what was going on. super green, some steady eddie would ask what the temp service paid, and get passed.

It's not for the employee, although they sometimes work out and get permanent. But it's for the employer to get employees that they may not need permanent. It's also for summertime/seasonal employees and employers. Hiring a permanent for a short time temp position just makes business tough.

My mom got her full time job at max factor through manpowere. Many years later on my third manpower temp job I landed a full time job. The first two had been glueing together junk mail brochures 😬 Post HS never got a job I applied to 😆

because the company can work you for 90 days at base rate. then if they do decide to hire you in. they can work you another 90 days at base rate before they have to give you benefits.

temp services are used so companies can fire without staying in the workers rights grey area...the temp will just re assign you...

it makes sense for companies. the conpany isn't hiring the. thay takes a load off the company. if they need legit temps during busy season but dont have the space to keep them on all year its perfect. they dont have to deal with looking for people and they dont have to pay out unemployment when they let them go in 1 to 6 months. and they dont have to deal with doing 1099s which your average person wouldn't know hoe to handle anyway. I did a temp to hire once. the temp agency was making a 72 cents an hour for what I worked for 3 months untill I transfered over to the company itself. most temp agencies here also work as staffing agencies and handle the entire hiring process for some companies. be it temp. temp to hire. or direct hire. the temp agency covers the costs of the drug tests (not the employer) they also do all the interviewing. and advertising.

The actual reason is die to employment systems that require businesses to provide things like health insurance at a certain threshold of employees. Temp services are contracted services, so don’t count to employee numbers.

My job gets a lot of temps, and usually it's people who just don't know what they're capable of or what kind of work they should get into. Either young adults without an established career or older people who can't retire and are struggling with the current job market.
