I’m customizing my own monster high doll I want her to be a gorgon so o have to hand make the snakes for her head I want them to be tough so they don’t snap off like clay might but also slightly flexible so I can move the snakes. I just want to know what to use to make them 😔

do you re-use scraps of platinum silicones for other molds? I'm a taxidermist and I have heard about re-using scraps of old molds or drips from newer ones to save materials.

I'm going to be making a very big 2 part silicone mould for a full arm piece, will be sculpted with monster. would you recommend tin or platinum? and what shore would you recommend? money not an issue, and there will be a lot of undercuts in the piece

when you made that brain did you use silicon to cast it? how do you cast silicon into a silicon mold and not make it stick? I've had to cast an ear and a tongue for a larp prop and ended up casting them into a temporary mold made of alginate(it's all I had).. but would love to know how you would do it as a pro

I’m wanting to make a silicone mask… that I can wear for cosplay and Halloween that will fit my face well… I know I’ll have to make a lifecast and sculpt off of the plaster lifecast.. but idk how to make the shell and all those steps! No YouTube or TikTok is helping 😩

I'm making a clear prop blade. so my plan is to make the shape of the blade out of super sculpy, put it in a costume cardboard box that I seal with glue and pour silicone over it while making sure that one end of the blade is left out so I can later pull it out and pour my resin in. not sure if it's a good idea but I wanna to it so bad right now

What keeps me away is more the price hurdle for the resin and the degassing setup. Last time I checked, a liter of resin was around €30.
