while wadining in the Laguna Madre ,, deadmans hole area I Had a stinger of reds and a couple of sheepshead . felt the usual tugs. then one fast hard tug. saw my floaty wash away by the current. pulled up my stringer and it was severed. clean. a shark took it.

They die pretty quick in this heat no matter how you string them. I used to use a second float on a longline clip to keep them up off the bottom, it really helps too.

pro tip reds don’t die very easy… trout will die if you look at them too long
